I knew that when April fools day landed on a Sunday, there would be a Friday the 13th. In fact when the 1st day of the month begins on a Sunday you know that the 13th day of the month will be a Friday.

The Number 13 and Friday have always been notoriously linked. Mixed together with mysticism and superstition. There seems to be so many explanations as to why the number is so spooky. The number 13 in a contraction the numbers three and ten. When said together (Three-ten) another word seems to form. That word is threaten.

Many people feel threatened by the number 13. So much so that most buildings lack a 13th floor and airlines do not have a 13th row of seats on their planes. Even the Japanese hate Friday the 13th. Which makes you wonder why there is this dark cloud over the day.

Every Friday the 13th seems to spawn all types of articles to tell you ad nauseam that Friday the 13th is a day that many people fear.

It is also joked that those who fear the number 13 are probably prone to believing all kinds of strangeness from fairies to the Easter Bunny.

I always have a weird feeling when Good Friday falls on an alleged unlucky day. It gets me wondering if there is any underlying weirdness that I can dig up to make conversation interesting while I plunge a fork into the Easter Ham.

When I uncover the weirdness surrounding the superstitions of 13 and the accidental arrival of that unlucky day on a religious holiday everyone will roll their eyes and think that I am once again contriving some outrageous coincidental theory.

But honestly I am not. I am only letting my thoughts wander and I am merely making conversation. Hopefully it gets a "Whoa" or a "Wow" from everyone I tell it too. I am sharing it with you, and you can use it too. You may get snickers from people, or you may just freak them out. I need to preface this article by stating that this is not an article that solves the puzzle, but an article that pieces together information and tries to find common threads and later applies it to news and events that affect us. I write it only to generate thought and discussion. I am sure there are plenty of experts out there who will refute this article but I am hoping that people will discuss the points that I bring up.

Being that it is the time of Easter and our thoughts are about the crucifixion and the story of betrayal, death, love and renewal, I felt that it would be appropriate to demonstrate that when Good Friday falls on a "bad luck" day things fall into laughable coincidence.

The number 13, Friday, and the images of Easter have a very weird coincidental history.

In the year 2001 Good Friday or "God Friday" falls on the 13th of April. To start the Synchronicity we learn that the term Good Friday has been used to refer to the day Christ was crucified since the 13th century.

Coincidentally, there are many people who believe that the origins of the Friday the 13th myth started with Christ. All you have to do is crack open a Bible and read the book of John.

"Jesus answered them, 'have not I chosen you 12, and one of you is a devil?' He spake of Judas Iscariot for it was he that should betray him."

The story of the Last Supper is similar to the Norse myth about the feasts of the gods. Twelve gods were invited to a banquet at Valhalla. Loki, the evil god, wasn't invited to this party but attended it anyway, bringing the number of guests to thirteen. During the evening, Loki, took aim and shot the god Balder with an arrow, killing him. Balder was the one blessed of the godís.

So perhaps the Friday the 13th superstition goes farther back in history far beyond the Christian explanation. E.W. Bullinger explains that the number 13 and its evil origins go back thousands of years before Jesus.

"Unfortunately, those who go backwards to find a reason seldom go back far enough. The popular explanations do not, so far as we are aware, go further back than the Apostles. But we must go back to the first occurrence of the number thirteen in order to discover the key to its significance. It occurs first in Genesis Chapter 4, where we read 'Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and the thirteenth year they REBELLED.'

"Hence every occurrence of the number thirteen, and likewise of every multiple of it, stamps that with which it stands in connection with rebellion, apostasy, defection, corruption, disintegration, revolution, or some kindred idea."

We can go to the Bible and look at all the other instances where Friday is seen as an unlucky day. Eve gave the apple to Adam on Friday, the great flood began on a Friday, the Temple of Solomon was destroyed on a Friday, execution day was Friday in Rome, and Good Friday exists because it is the reported day of Jesus' crucifixion. Who betrayed Christ? Well of course it was Judas the 13th Apostle.

A freak coincidence in scripture reveals Judas as the betrayer of Christ in John chapter 13:18-30. Anyone want to count how many scriptures there are between 18 and 30?

Thatís right 13!

In the 15th chapter of Mark Verse 13 is where the Jews passed sentence on Christ:

"And they cried out Crucify him!"

So we go full circle with Easter, Good Friday, the Number 13 and Jesus Christ. These coincidences can also be found in the representations of Christ as well.

The traditional image of Christ is perhaps the most recognizable face on the planet. Artists from the early periods depicted Christ with the Greek features and in over 2000 years the image has evolved into a more Aryan look for the incarnate God. Last Easter Ground Zero began the debate on whether or not Christís image should be updated and reflect a more believable look. A look that depicts Christ as darker skinned, short, and with shorter curly hair.

The big question that burns in many peopleís minds is where did the conceptions of Christ come from? There is no account in the Bible of his physical description and in the Old Testament God Made it quite clear, on Mount Sinai that man should not be hell bent on creating any "graven images".

At first, the early followers of Christ used symbols and tokens to represent their Messiah. This later evolved into espousing the use of Pagan idols and images to represent the Son of God. Christians would use Fish, and crosses to symbolize Christ.

The Fish was an emblem of Freyja, and as such was associated the goddess Frigga and the worship of "free love". It was offered by the Scandinavians to the goddess, coincidentally on the sixth day of the week, which anciently was Friday. Catholics eat fish on Friday during Lent. They also use the Cross as a symbol for Christ.

For years the use of such symbols fueled controversy as to whether or not The Christ was truly a man, but an Idea wrapped in the vestments of paganism, mysticism, and fable.

So in order to silence the criticism Christís image began to appear in paintings and architecture.

Just before the renaissance artists would paint pictures of the Christ with feminine features. His bone structure and high cheekbones depicted meekness. His Long hair was of course the style at the time.

His likeness of course was white. which represents purity. Jesus was also called "the lamb" which of course is white in the wool. Itís not surprising that a white Europe would want a white Christ since during the Crusades it was opined that the darker skinned races were savages and most definitely non-believers.

The longhaired bearded Christ is in definite contrast as to the teachings of one of Christís disciples.

The Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians

"Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering."

This would insinuate that Christ might have had short hair as opposed to long hair. That in turn would put the validity of the Shroud of Turin into question. But where did the Image of the longhaired bearded man with a cap of thorns come from?

In the book The Second Messiah" Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas have a theory. A theory that Knight presented on Ground Zero.

They claim that the Christ Image on the Shroud of Turin is the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, Jacques de Molay, who was tortured some months before his execution in 1307. The image on the shroud certainly does fit the description of De Molay. His image in ancient woodcuts show him as a man who had a long nose, shoulder length hair, that was parted in the middle, and a full beard that was forked in the middle. De Molay was also a tall figure as well, measuring six feet.

One of the biggest criticisms to this theory is that Templars were also forbidden to grow their hair long.

However this can easily be countered with the idea that while De Molay was in prison he probably was not afforded the opportunity to be shorn.

Even though attempts have been made to make the Shroud a Holy relic, it needs to be said that Carbon dating concludes that the shroud was made sometime in the 14th or Century (1300ís) coincidentally the same time as the crucifixion of De Molay in 1307. While he was near death, De Molays body was laid out and covered with a burial shroud. He was humiliated for his beliefs and was tortured and executed is similar manner as Jesus.

Another interesting coincidence is that the carbon dating information about the Shroud was made public on Friday, October the 13th, 1989.

Templar History buffs will tell you that on Friday the 13th of October 1307, The Templars were arrested and were the victims of mass torture and execution. The condition of the body in the shroud conflicts with scripture accounts in the book of John, which states that the body was washed and anointed and then wrapped in linen. The Shroud shows that the corpse bled in several key areas that are similar to that of the Christ.

There was also a napkin that was above his head, which is not seen in the image of the Shroud. Luke also describes a piece of cloth that was wrapped around the head and chin to keep the lower jaw from dropping. Investigators claim that perhaps there is such a piece of linen pulling the beard and hair back slightly.

Luke also says that hands and feet were tied with linen strips. As far as I tell there are no linen strips binding the hands of the man in the shroud.

There is also no sign of decomposition on the body. Which may indicate that the body under the shroud was not dead.

When De Molay was crucified he was not dead when he was brought down off of his cross. He was taken down, in order to partially recover and then he was roasted over hot coals.

Another Friday and 13 coincidence, when dealing with the Shroud, Easter, and Jesus is the scientific analysis as to whether or not the Shroud is the true burial cloth of Christ.

We have already determined that Carbon dating says that the shroud was made in the 1300ís. Direct examination of the Shroud by scientific means began in 1969-73 with the appointment of an 11-member Turin Commission (1976) to advise on the preservation of the relic and on specific testing which might be undertaken. Five of its members were scientists, and preliminary studies of samples of the cloth were conducted by them in 1973. A much more detailed examination of the Shroud was carried out by a group of American scientists in 1978-81 as the Shroud of Turin Research Project.

Coincidentally one of the Scientists whose surname was Frei (which of course is a cognate of Free which has other cognate associations like Frig, Frigga, Frigge, Frige, Frie, Friehe, Freye, Friemann, Freitag which is German for Friday) collected pollen from the shroud and determined that some of the pollen could be from 13 species of halophyte and desert plants that can be found in the Negev and Dead Sea area. Giving more circumstantial evidence that it could have been Christís burial Cloth.

However he also determined that other pollen samples come from plants found in regions like Turkey-northern Syria, and the Istanbul area. Frei concluded that the Shroud must have been exposed to air in the past in Palestine, Turkey, and Europe. Suggesting that the Shroud pollen came from long-distance wind-borne deposits that may have came from the Crusaders or maybe even the Knights Templar and their travels all over the world.

Leaving behind the Shroud coincidences and the argument of its validity, the number 13 seems to have some sort of connection to Christís Mother the Blessed Virgin Mary. It also reveals a strange cyclical coincidence that is too good to keep under wraps.

It was on May 8, 1972 while praying at the Chapel of the Apparitions at Fatima that the Mother of God impressed upon Father Gobbi her desire that he start the Marian Movement of Priests. Reassured by an unmistakable sign that it was God's will, and with the approval of his spiritual director, he and two other priests launched the Movement on Friday October 13, 1972.

I will now point out that the Virgin Mary seems to have a fixation with the number 13 as well.

The Virgin Mary allegedly appeared six times to three shepherd children near the town of Fatima, Portugal between May 13th and October 13th 1917. Besides the Message of Fatima given by The Virgin to the general public in the series of apparitions from May 13th to October 13th, She confided a Secret on July 13th, 1917 which was to be given later to all the faithful by Sister Lucy and the Church authorities.

The prophecy was later fulfilled on May 13, 2000 when the Third secret of Fatima was partially revealed. It was coincidentally revealed the day of the Popes attempted assassination on May 13, 1981. The Third secret of Fatima spoke of the Pope looking over the world in desolation and being gunned down.

It needs to be pointed out that the first two secrets of Fatima dealt with Communism and World War II. The Third was nebulous about War and the death of the Pope. However Pope John Paul II revealed that the third secret was about his assassination attempt.

There were many people who claimed that the revelation was not fulfilled and that the Vatican was not telling the whole Truth. During the Popeís declaration on May 13th 2000 the Pope alluded to the revelation of the beast rising up with seven heads.

This speech rang too familiar if you look at the cycles of historic facts. The dates of thirteen run synchronous and revelation may be fulfilled very soon.

To explain what I mean I need to once again go back to May 13th,1917 when the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared. The revelation talked about the Conversion of Russia and the wars that Russia would face.

On May 13th,1941 Joseph Stalin divided Russia into seven districts in preparation for War.

In a twisted coincidence The third secret Fatima was revealed on May13th, 2000 which once again is the anniversary of the Popeís assassination attempt on May13th, 1981. The third secret allegedly is about the Popeís assassination (May 13th, 1981). Furthermore on the same day 19 years later (May 13th, 2000) The Pope spoke of the seven headed beast, which on the same day (May 13th, 2000) Vladimir Putin the leader of Russia coincidentally divides his country into seven districts. This happened one week after he was sworn in as president of Russia. This is eerily similar to what Stalin did before the War broke out. The following news story was printed May 14th, 2000:

MOSCOW, May 14 (Reuters)ó In what is seen as an attempt to consolidate his position, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree dividing the country into seven federal districts, barely a week after he was sworn-in.

The federal districts will be headed by presidential representatives, who will help the President in exercising his constitutional powers and in monitoring the implementation of his domestic and foreign policies and federal laws by the regional authorities, according to a decree signed yesterday.

The decree will facilitate the government in firmly administering, at times unruly, federation of 89 ethnic regions, many of which like Chechnya have been ignoring the federal laws and constitution. The new decree comes two days after Mr Putin suspended policies passed by the Ingush, Bashkirian and Amur authorities, saying that they contradicted federal laws.

Now you are not going to believe where the apocalyptic revelation is found in the bible concerning the beast with seven heads.

Thatís right, Revelation Chapter 13!

"And I stood upon the sand of the sea and saw a beast rise up out of the sea. Having seven heads and 10 horns, and upon his horns ten crowns and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."

Does anyone fear the Number 13?

Happy Good Friday the 13th, itís a holiday that has a very spooky history.
