"The people cannot be all, and always, well-informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty." --Thomas Jefferson
I have thought long and hard about what I have wanted to say about the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. As you can see I have waited to speak my opinion because it is often wise to step back and wait when you don't have the answers or when you look at something as devastating as this and remain confused.
I have had some time to piece together some real coincidences and even stranger synchronicities about the atrocity. I do this out of habit and it's not being done to make light of anything or to be flippant.
It's a coping mechanism.
I have connected some dots and I have also looked at history and I have come to the conclusion that as it was in the past, so it is in the present. My intent is not to offend you but to inform you and show you the peculiarities of this heinous act of war.
In any war, the people are treated to a mountain of propaganda to engender the feelings of patriotism and to dissolve objectivity. We see how wonderful we are so we can forget about the bitter pill we are about swallow.
That pill is the pill of vengeance.
The vengeance pill 's side effects include a bit of cynicism and with a paranoid consensus there is a silent minority who begin to carry out certain actions backed by destructive agendas.
In the process, we eventually lose our senses and begin in indulge in the practice of hate speech, confrontation and the demand for more vengeance.
In New York, after the horrible attack on the World trade Center, it was reported locally that 6 Hindus were murdered in the streets and two cab drivers who were of Middle Eastern descent were killed as well.
There were also bomb threats made to the Empire State building, as well as landmarks in other states. Most of these stories did not make it to the national news because they were too busy trying to bring the nation together. We had to roll another loop of the plane hitting the tower, or the crying man who has just inhaled asbestos and glass dust. All to get our blood boiling and to rekindle our anger.
Newspapers ran front page pictures of the New York Fireman bringing up the American Flag on a mound that was once The World Trade Tower. Feeding our emotions with a picture reminiscent of the brave soldiers of Iwo Jima.
Cut! Print that. It will sell more body bags for that nebulous enemy that we are about to grind up in the war machine.
The Governing body is hoping that no one will pay attention to the intricacies of the war science. So they bombard you with imagery of death, and destruction at the hands of the aggressor and while it is happening they roll "God Bless America."
They tap into the memes of the people by using terms like "infamy" and "Pearl Harbor" and they use the term that I have grown to love "Ground Zero." They quickly cut to pictures of Osama Bin Laden.
They might as well put in large letters over Bin laden "BAD GUY" and then print "GOOD GUYS" on the President, congress, and the firemen.
I know that it is a terrible tragedy, but they are not telling us anything. They are guiding us along and feeding us lines and images to get us angry.
I admit that if you aren't angry then either you are dead, emotionally retarded, or not paying attention.
We have had time to hear the screams, the sirens, and the spin-doctors. It is now time to face the facts and actually earn the right to fly that flag proudly and boldly in the face of the enemy.
No matter where we find that enemy.
We have been apathetic, and silent long enough and waving a flag and holding candles is not enough anymore. I'm not downplaying the jingoistic pleasure of waving a flag or singing anthems or even praying. But isn't this something we should have done anyway?
Be more active in patriotic events that stir the soul? Shouldn't we protest and eliminate anything that gets in the way of our freedoms like true patriots?
I can't help but think that the country needed a little more flag waving back when everyone was hanging on whether or not the President was getting serviced by his intern. A little "God bless America" should have been sung back when our elections failed us.
In the aftermath of the carnage, and tragedy that was levied against us, I have witnessed people who are indifferent. Yet they wear a T-shirt that says "America Proud."
This is something that we should not tolerate as a people.
I also see people who are still caught up in the blame game. They are caught up in their political agendas and their partisan rhetoric. They use their patriotism as a way to hide the fact that this whole mess was foretold and that it was inevitable, when you consider how our leadership has thundered into countries like Roman emperors killing people and calling them "collateral damage" in the name of Democracy.
My sour grapes have been posted ad nauseum on my website and I am not here to dig them up and say "I told you so" because it does not bring back the dead, or wipe away the tears of the living.
I can ask you now if you are willing to wake up and understand that this is not as simple as you might think.
It's not a matter of we bombed them, they bombed us.
It's not a matter of retaliation or vengeance or a declaration of war.
It's a matter of whether or not we can realize that the enemy that we hear about can be right in our own back yard. That the enemy orchestrates and carries out their acts of terror for the soul purpose of keeping the feeling of fear and dread in our minds. This attitude begins in the playground at school, and builds even more when we slap a child, abuse a wife, mistreat a pet, or neglect the old. We somehow lose our humanity when we want power.
It's a great control mechanism.
They (The Government Mob) build the monsters and beasts and then slay them in order for you to applaud and cheer. When you do so you are giving them the "go ahead " to do it all over again.
When you decide to give up your freedoms for safety, the indefinable and at the moment, undefineable enemy has won.
Giving up is the act of true cowardice. It is also an act of a truly plastic patriot.
The universe has now been playing out an Apocalypse by numbers game and it is obvious to those who have eyes that can see and ears that can hear.
The planes that were hijacked and the date that the act of terror was carried out beg for your consideration. It is open for all kinds of speculation and the mind reels when it is applied to the events that have transpired over the course of this insurmountable tragedy.
Flights 11, 93, 175, and 77 provide a bit of numeric significance to wild minded theorists like myself who are sifting through information for answers to the puzzle of why this has happened.
It was also a coincidence that the day of the attack was September 11th or 9/11 (911) a day that certainly thrust us into a national emergency.
The number 11 seems to just show up a lot in this numerological exercise.
This of course is strange when it has been said that from the Chaos of War comes law and order.
Ground Zero predicted in the Article "On the 7th day" that Mars would be the focus of man in 2001 and while it rises above us in the heavens the earth and governments will be shaken to their cores.
"The old warlords will die and the new ones will rise. The earth will be shaken to its spiritual core and man will fear that the Armageddon spoken of in antiquity is being fulfilled. Governments will be in turmoil and if we are living in a cosmic repeating circle a parable will be fulfilled.
The soothsayer said to Caesar in the Shakespearean play "Beware the Ides of March" as he eventually was met in betrayal and his government fell. His own colleagues assassinated him. Thus we see the beginnings of a great fall of an empire.
Oh how the Gods love drama." -- Ground Zero "On the Seventh Day."
Is this a coincidence?
There are many more.
The short lived "Lone Gunmen," a series that was a spin off from the X-files ran their pilot episode which dealt with a remote controlled jet aircraft programmed to crash into and destroy the World Trade Center.
The Hip- Hop group "Coup," a band that was anti-establishment released an album last July showing them pushing the plunger that detonated a bomb at the World trade center. Behind them was the image that we know now to be so horrific and tragic. A chilling and prophetic image that obviously will be pulled off the racks or banished to the budget bin of the CD store.
Was it not too long ago that a little Movie called "Pearl Harbor" was released in theatres showing the cowardice of a sneak attack? It is uncanny how the faces have changed but the same themes ring through today.
It looks like propaganda set up for the same scenario.
In the article "Casting Swine Before Pearl Harbor" I tried to demonstrate how it was particularly odd how movies and television series were being produced that would create a sense of patriotism before a major event that would change our lives in the future. The media now is comparing the terrorist attacks to that of Pearl Harbor.
"But let us not forget that war makes some people act in ways that are diabolical and draconian. Sometimes even the ones you think are on your side can act as evil and ugly as the enemy you fear.
Movies like "Pearl Harbor" are fine and they rally the masses for a piece of that patriotic apple pie.
But when movies like these come out I get the feeling that a lot of younger people go to them and think that they are reality. That the romantic touches tend to take a front seat and the ugliness is made into a Saturday morning cartoon.
War is ugly- Ground Zero "Casting Swine Before Pearl Harbor."
Furthermore, in the same article it was speculated that perhaps the whole attack at Pearl harbor was provoked, and allowed to happen to rally the people to get behind a War with Europe.
It was a horrific accusation that a President would know full well that attack was about to happen and did nothing to stop it. I point out further that these types of Operations have happened before:
"In the year 2001 the stories of corruption and methodical bombings, and shootings to provoke a response wind up in conspiracy circles and eventually on the nightly news.
We are apt to think that the Timothy McVeigh story is unique. That a bomb meant for the BATF didn't make its mark, because they were well aware of it before the event occurred. So they actually didn't show up to work. However collateral damage of 168 dead was enough to rally the people into demanding stricter laws against terrorism, and virtually leveled the militia.
What if it was a well planned attack to get the public to demand action?
Declassified documents also have surfaced showing that the American Military would do anything to create public outcry for a certain action.
Back in the 1960's the U.S, was looking for an excuse to invade Cuba, but the public was not for it. Documents that were declassified say that Senior U.S. administration officials under the late president John Kennedy contemplated blowing up a U.S. navy ship in Guantanamo Bay, faking casualties and blaming it on Cuban President Fidel Castro. In a March 1962 memo, an anonymous Pentagon official outlined "a series of well coordinated incidents to take place in and around Guantanamo Bay to give genuine appearance of being done by hostile Cuban forces."
Possibilities included "Sabotaging a ship in the harbor; creating large fires - with naphthalene, a combustible chemical compound, and "Sink the ship near the harbor entrance and then conduct a funeral for mock victims."
Ever wonder who may have been involved with such a staged event? Well we know it was the CIA, Kennedy, and others.
But there was this little event called "Operation Zapatta". That had a ring of familiarity to it. A big coincidence looms over this failed operation. George Bush senior's oil company was the Zapata Petroleum Corporation and was based in Houston. One of the landing craft at the Bay of Pigs was the Barbara and the other was called the Houston.
How coincidental that some event to make Castro look bad had a Bush implicated in the debacle.
Now speculations are running rampant yet again in conspiracy circles because a lot of people are curious as to why our Intelligence operations failed in the WTC attack.
Good question especially when 4 planes got through under the radar not to mention terrorists getting through checkpoints. At the moment of our tragedy some people would feel it a bit inappropriate to speculate that George W. Bush knew that the attack was about to happen and did nothing.
Undaunted, Government watchdog Sherman Skolnick believes that the Government had prior Knowledge of the attacks. Is it truly another Pearl Harbor?
"The most massive so-called "terrorist" attacks on U.S. soil since the Oklahoma City bombings of 1995, were known, a week ahead of time, by the American CIA. Among the foreign intelligence agencies who penetrated the plots were the French CIA and Israel's The Mossad, units of both often working with one another.
Foreign intelligence sources confirm the validity of this story. And they state that they informed the U.S. secret police who absolutely failed, neglected, and outright refused to take action as to known prior specifics of which the top-level of the CIA were informed in advance." -Sherman Skolnick
He sites the following as interesting ties to the attack that may implicate the same terrorists that allegedly worked in tandem with Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma City bombing:
A report that was filed Saturday September 8th 2001 should have sounded the alarm that something was happening.
The FBI investigated the theft of high-powered weapons from a military installation in Nebraska. It happened at a missile alert facility in southwestern Nebraska, near Kimball. An M-16 machine gun and the grenade launcher for that weapon along with ammunition and an M-60 machine gun were stolen. No nuclear components were taken from the site. The missile alert facility is set up so crewmembers work in an underground area, the weapons are stored above ground. Is there some sort of tie to the World trade Center attacks?
I also was surprised to hear that during the attacks on the WTC, and the Pentagon President Bush did make a stop in Nebraska.
Now I am well aware that the media has reported that the terrorists used rat knives as weapons. However we do not know the extent of what was to happen and they may even find out that there truly were bombs on board ( as cell phone calls from passengers indicated) and that they were detonated on the planes which caused the full collapse of the towers. The reason that I am speculating about this is because the designers of the buildings had reported that the towers were made to sustain a commercial airliner hit. Aaron Swirski, one of the architects of the World Trade Center, told the Jerusalem Post that they designed the towers to withstand like a plane flying into the side.
Did we have time to intercept the second plane?
The chronology of events is plain. More numbers and more uncanny little tidbits that you need to consider:
Anyone for some good old apocalyptic religious synchronicity?
Crack open the good book and open it to that last chapter that makes good stories for the Halloween party and scripts for Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Read this little scripture. Revelations Chapter 18:17-19
"In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!' "Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off. When they see the smoke of her burning, they will exclaim, `Was there ever a city like this great city?' They will throw dust on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out: "`Woe! Woe, O great city, where all who had ships on the sea became rich through her wealth! In one hour she has been brought to ruin!"
To add to the Apocalyptic Spookiness a number of photos were produced from the associated press that showed some curious simulacra. The images show what appears to be demons in the dark clouds that surrounded the towers.
A few days before the tragedy in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania I was complaining about Television. Trivial really, but my complaint was related to shows like "That 70's show" which basically sold nostalgia and eventually morphed into some eighties reminiscing.
I complained that there is no clear defining moment for us in the boring time that has existed from 1995 till now and that shows in the genre like "Happy Days" and "That 70's show" will eventually die because everything has become so mundane.
What kind of nostalgia can we dig up from all of the disposable attitudes we have developed? What have we rallied behind? What defines a time where a little of everything as amounted to whole lot of nothing. Was there a cause that we can recall? An attitude that prevailed? Other than our apathy and our ability to not care anymore?
I said to myself that there have been no defining moments that would make for a show where we all can kick back and have the credits roll with "Oops I did it again" as an opening theme song.
It's unfortunate that the defining moment for the new century will be the terrorist attack on the World trade Center and Pentagon. In the contest for top story of 2001, this story is a given. It may even be the defining story of the new millennium.
What a way to kick off a thousand years. We know where this ride is going.
The new era has arrived.
I have been doing a great deal of soul searching and to some extent I am believing that this may change the way we feel about each other. It has been a long time since we actually have stopped to ponder our mortality and our disposable lifestyle.
We have been a bit complacent and in some ways ruthless towards each other and to our neighbors abroad. We have had a false sense of security where we think that our lives would never change or be disrupted by an act of war. We have bought into our superiority so much that we have taken for granted the very things that we should embrace.
So we procrastinate.
We fail to say "I love you" or we fight and we wreck homes. We make frivolous lawsuits, we get road rage, and we become careless. We eat plastic food, we listen to plastic music, and we all seem to become carbon copied zombies walking into Starbucks for that brown "second wind."
We are satisfied in working in a "cubicle hell" and we are so lazy that we would rather e-mail someone, than walk 20 steps to say hello. We say we are lonely and at the same time we are afraid to eat with someone we don't know or we get up and take another seat on the bus when someone sits next to us.
We pop Prozac for PMS and anxiety, we look down upon those who smoke pot, yet we get into our cars and drive three sheets to the wind. We live in the burbs with our two cars, dog, cat, and television, but we can't pull away from the Playstation long enough to get to know our neighbors.
And now we sell bent street signs, and pieces of wreckage from the tragic attack on E-bay.
Where have we gone wrong?
Now each moment that passes in this great time of tragedy the country is up in arms. We are in need of resolution, and for some the closure of our loss is great vengeance. It is wrapped up in the flag, and sealed with the assurance of the God of war.
Is it so easy?
Our President cries on National Television and we complain that he is showing a sign of weakness. So he feels no other alternative than to gather the joint chiefs and fire at will. "It's what the people want" the talking heads say.
Is it the product of programming that we must finger the undefined enemy and shoot stray bullets in the dark and take out innocent lives because of the actions of our leaders? Must we succumb to the overgrown infants that kill children by remote control?
Button pushers safe in their bunkers playing games of war telling you that it is your duty to support the countless dead by killing again and again?
What is the difference between a dead Arab and a dead Jew?
A dead me and a dead you?
All it takes is six feet of dirt to make all men equal.
Should we shout out loud about or hopes and our fears as our leaders take hold of their bulletproof countenance? As they look upon the tear filled and paranoid eyes of their subjects. True cowards seek not the truth but hide behind their words and their fortified stance.
They tell you that it is unfortunate that lives will be lost. They never say that their lives are more precious than yours. They expect you to sing patriotic songs, wave the flags that are printed in China, and say "how high" when you are told to jump.
It is natural for men and women to have the fire of patriotism burning in their bosom when their country has been ravaged by the cowardly acts of the few. We realize that it's time to blow the dust off the uniforms, and volunteer for the betterment of the community.
The true heroes that make America worth fighting for are the brave men and women that have set aside their personal hate, and prejudice and have stepped up in the recovery of what is left of our shattered faith.
In the new century we must realize that our community has become global. A community of differing views, that unleash new ideas that may be uncomfortable and customs that may look peculiar on the surface.
As humans there is a universal signal that we all possess and that is real. It is a signal of humility, and sadness.
Our President wasn't afraid to shed them and many others weren't either as we watched the horror of the black smoke and fire of ruin that rained on New York on September 11th.
There were real tears.
Tears that flowed down the cheeks of the hurt and violated.
Once the tears run dry and the salt is tasted on our lips, the thoughts of the retaliation begin to overcome us. The fierce battle, the roaring fire, the taking of the fortress, and the bronzed heroes fighting the good fight and then returning to their home lands, some crazy, some frightened, others confused.
In our patriotic panting we bow our heads in prayer, and invoke the god of thunder to draw his sword upon our enemies and dash them to bits. We pray with pain and our desires are dark as we ask the omnipresent God to give us the ability to suspend our good conscience and smite the enemy with wrath.
We suspend our belief in a peaceful God and demand that he take on the personification of a demon, and pour out his anger and vengeance upon those who have wronged us.
Think of what we are saying in our anger. Think of the messages that we send ourselves. There are some that are not too frightened to call upon God and to demand that he be with us in our moment of anger. That he avenges the dead with the deadly strike and clouds our possible future.
We must learn that prayers such as these are not really prayers.
Oh what a prayer it would be as the National Anthem is played, and the firecrackers pop.
Jesus, Mary, and God of all that is holy, rain down upon our enemies the cyclone of fire and hell. Litter the land of our enemies with the pale and shredded bodies of their wives and children. Let the wailing of the wounded drown out the thundering of their cannons and tanks.
Give us the ability to turn the homes of our adversaries into twigs, and force their maimed children to walk their bloodied streets aimlessly looking for their torn and raped mothers. Those who are living should envy those who are dead. Lord God almighty, tease them with the grave but give them the ability to live through the hurt and suffering and have them dream about it forever. Have them look upon their monuments that have fallen at your hand.
Curse them in the summer, make their heat a bit hotter. Make them fall in the chill of Autumn, and stain the snows of winter with the blood of those who oppose us.
All done and sealed in the name of love and patriotism, truth, justice, life and liberty.
All sealed for the benefit of the few, and not the benefit of the whole, forever and ever Amen.
We think it now don't we? I know some of us do as I hear the vengeful rants.
Maybe we have already said this prayer in our hearts.
Maybe we should take the time to finger who the true enemy is.
The enemy within.
The enemy that is too frightened of the truth.
The enemy that is too proud to let the shield slip. Too frightened to admit that the answers are not so black and white.
The enemy that looks upon others who die at the hand of the sword as "collateral damage."
Because now as an American I have to surrender my constitutional freedoms because the enemy has decided to rule with terror and an iron hand. All agreed upon by my brothers and sisters who look for guidance and are given cute little word plays that sound good in a sixty second sound bite on CNN.
We are told that we do not give in to terrorist demands.
Well, they are demanding terror.
Unfortunately we will oblige them.
"It's what the people want."
At the cost of more lives. At the cost of more liberty.
The final solution is either rebuild and turn the other cheek. Or eliminate every single one of the undefined enemies so there is no retaliation and no way that they can invoke any more terror.
Now you know why we haven't made a move.
Now you know why we have been paralyzed.
The final solution is extinction.
Welcome to hell. It was paved with good intentions.
We all just let it happen.
No one deserves this. Not even our indefinable enemies.
While many people with tears in their eyes say "God Bless America" and whisper a silent prayer, I urge you all to also wish for peace on earth.
The attack on New York was an attack on the world.
There is no mistaking the fact that the world will change because of it.
